St Mary's Church

Ebberston's parish church — Norman in origin, standing on rising ground half a mile west of the village with wooded slopes behind.

The church of St Mary the Virgin is Grade II* listed and Norman in origin, its nave and chancel dating from the 12th century. It stands apart from the modern village, about half a mile to the west, on rising ground with wooded slopes behind it — one of the quietest and most rewarding short walks from the village.

In the churchyard, roughly 14.5 metres south-east of the porch, stands a medieval churchyard cross, itself Grade II listed.

Ebberston Hall stands a short distance to the north-east, and the churchyard gives one of the best views toward it.

The church belongs to the Church of England parish of Ebberston St Mary, in the Diocese of York.
