Welcome to Ebberston
A visitor's guide to Ebberston — a historic village on the edge of the North York Moors.
A historic A170 village
A small village with a grand secret
Ebberston sits on the A170 in Ryedale, where the land rises from the River Derwent up toward the moors at the mouth of the narrow valley of Kirk Dale. It is a historic estate village of Grade II listed sandstone and pantile buildings, historically agricultural — and home to a Grade I listed Palladian villa often called England's smallest stately home.
For visitors, Ebberston makes an excellent, uncrowded base: Pickering lies about 6 miles west, Scarborough about 11 miles east, and Dalby Forest and the wider North York Moors begin on the doorstep.

Ebberston Hall
A Grade I listed Palladian villa of 1718 — widely called England's smallest stately home. A private residence, admired from the road.
